Albert Irvin and me and my wife infront of one of my largest canvases in my then Gallery Studio Royal William Yard Plymouth UK

I had the most wonderful moment when Albert (Bert) Irvin came to visit me in my gallery studio on his visit to Plymouth in November 2012.

I was so humbled by his presence and to spend time with the great man.

He was in Plymouth to collect his Doctorate from the Plymouth Collage of Art, on the Friday I went to a talk he gave at the college which was or inspiring and so refreshing I melted into his world and soul. The college offered to bring him the following day if he wished to visit my gallery. At first the lovely lady Tima who was looking after his trip said he felt he won't be able to make it as he had a busy day ahead. But within an hour he changed his mind and asked to be picked up to come and visit me.

WOW how did that happen. I am so humbled by this experience and it was a feeling I can only describe as overwhelming, like your favorite rock star standing there in front of you with his undivided attention. We had a great moment and my wife turned up on cue with the milk, said he would like to meet her and so he did. Much love and wishes to the great man.
